The Sierra 1500’s TurboMax™ engine offers drivers 310 horsepower at 5,600 RPM and a whopping 430 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 RPM. Haul/Tow Mode

This mode will employ the help of the engine and transmission and use them to maintain your desired speed and avoid uncontrollable downhill speeds.
Cruise Grade Braking
While your cruise control is active, this mode with automatically take over downshifting to slow your Sierra 1500. This is ideal for situations where you’re coasting downhill and the truck speeds up.
GMC PRO Safety
This serves as your suite of safety features and includes IntelliBeam oncoming traffic-sensing headlights and the Buckle to Drive system that disables the shifter until your seatbelt is on. The Forward Collision Alert tells you if a front-end collision is imminent, the Following Distance Indicator keeps you three seconds away from traffic ahead, the Front Pedestrian Braking will help you stop in time to avoid smaller collision objects, and the Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning keeps you center-lane.
